Brush Your Teeth In 6 Seconds With The 3D Printed Toothbrush!!!

If you had a choice between spending 2 minutes or 6 seconds brushing your teeth, you would probably go with the faster method. The Blizzident custom 3D-printed toothbrush is a bizarre-looking toothbrush alternative that promises a 6-second scrub of your pearly whites.
Blizzident
The Blizzident custom 3D printed toothbrush looks a little strange but promises to clean your teeth in just 6 seconds. So what would you choose, 3 minutes or 6 seconds?
It is actually custom-made and involves you having a 3D scan or impression of your teeth. If your dentist takes an impression, then it needs to be scanned into a 3D file. This is then sent to Blizzident, which 3D prints your own unique toothbrush.
You place the 3D printed toothbrush into your mouth and make biting and chewing motions. Lots of soft bristles are angled so as to thoroughly clean teeth and gums. The way the bristles are angled and the fact that it is a perfect fit for your mouth, mean it is able to clean properly but more efficiently.
The downside to this is cost. Whereas you can pick up a normal toothbrush very cheaply, the Blizzident’s more complex manufacturing process means it costs you $299. It is recommended that after one year you replace the custom toothbrush, which then costs another $159. Plus don’t forget you need to pay for that 3D scan. Rather alot of money for keeping your teeth white, especially when the same result can be achieved with a cheaper alternative.
Blizzident has promised to share clinical studies on the efficiency of the product, which will certainly be interesting. But as for me, I’ll be using to my good old fashioned toothbrush, for 3 minutes twice a day of course!

Apple releases New IMac with Iris Pro.

Following the release of the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, Apple has given its iMac a small revamp. The new release brings Haswell cores from Intel, new NVIDIA Corp. GPUs, improved Fusion drives and more ports.
Last October Apple made major changes to the iMac line, which included a new 5-mm thick aluminum frame. This time round the changes are more subtle but nonetheless contribute to making Apple’s all-in-one (AIO) personal computer a serious contender in the bid for the best value in the market.
iMac
Currently Lenovo dominate the AIO PC market after over-taking Apple. So what does the new iMac have to offer? Well the revamped model comes with  8 GB (upgradable two 32 GB for 27-inch, 16 GB for 21.5-inch) of 1600 MHz DDR3 and a 1 terabyte “Fusion” drive, a mostly hard disk hybrid drive with an undisclosed amount of NAND flash onboard (upgradable to 3 TB traditional HDD, a 256 GB SSD, or a 512 GB SSD).
Apple’s AIO PC comes with a wireless “Magic Mouse” and wireless keyboard. It also has 802.11ac Wi-Fi and the following ports:
  •     SDXC card slot
  •     Four USB 3 ports (compatible with USB 2)
  •     Two Thunderbolt ports
  •     Mini DisplayPort output with support for DVI, VGA and dual-link DVI (adapters sold separately)
  •     10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45 connector)
  •     Kensington lock slot
The 21.5-inch model of the iMac, which costs $1,299 comes with the on-die Iris Pro GPU inside the Intel Haswell 2.7 GHz quad-core Core i5- 4570R processor.
Apple claims that it has been able to significantly improve the hardware and firmware of its proprietary Fusion drives, thus making performance 50 percent faster than the previous generation.

Compared to the competition, Apple has priced the new iMacs rather aggressively. Even those who want a Windows 8 AIO can now consider a new iMac via Boot Camp, which supports Windows 8.

Smartphones screen protector shield 5X stronger than Gorilla Glass!!!

Move Over Gorilla, Rhino Shield Is Here To Save The Mobile Screen

Gorilla glass is used for smart devices in order to help users keep their beloved device safe from scratches and cracks. Only there are people all over the world who are having to order a new screen for their iPhone after they dropped it, so we can safely assume that the Gorilla glass is not infallible. Now though, Evolutive Labs, a company born from Cambridge University, have successfully funded and developed the Rhino Shield screen protector, which according to the team at EL, will leave the Gorilla well and truly in the mist.

Impressive Functionality
The rhino Shield is supposedly able to withstand 5 times the impact that Gorilla 2 glass can. Some people even call the shield hammer proof. The designers haven’t simply taken the brawn into account though, the Rhino shield is extremely clever in the way it actively improves user experience.
Users of Rhino Shield can enjoy:
  • Smooth touchscreen functionality – No stickiness that hinders the function of the touchscreen. Fingers will glide across the screen ultra-thin 0.29 mm cover as if it isn’t there at all.
  • Impressively hard exterior – The hardness of the cover is H3 which will protect screens against keys, coins, nails pens and plenty of other pesky objects.
  • Smudge free screen – Not only does the Rhino shield protect against impact and scratches, the custom formulated polymer actually repels different oils which means no finger prints or smudges.
Backed By Thousands
The Rhino Shield project was taken to Kickstarter in order for developers to get the financial backing they needed to make the shield a reality. The concept was so popular that during the 30 day campaign, 3674 backers managed to surpass the £50,000 goal and raise £73,716 in total.
Move Over Gorilla, Rhino Shield Is Here To Save The Mobile Screen
Available Now
Since the end of the crowd funding campaign in April, developers have worked hard to bring the Rhino Shield to the public and now users can finally experience what may be the ultimate form of screen protection for smart devices.

Shields can be bought from $29 – $40 depending on the type of device. Exact sizes will be supplied as the name of the particular model is required while ordering.

Facebook got 56 M users in Arab States!!!

Facebook says 56 million ‘like’ it in Arab world

                                                                                                                                                   (Dubai news)

Facebook announced Tuesday that it has 56 million active users in the Middle East and North Africa, where activists used the social media network to organise Arab Spring uprisings.
Half of these users returned to the website on a daily basis, Facebook regional chief Jonathan Labin told a news conference in Dubai, noting a significant increase in the number of people connecting from mobile devices.
"Every month, 56 million people are active on Facebook across the MENA region, with 50 percent of those returning on a daily basis," Facebook said in a statement.
In total, "33 million people in MENA use a phone or tablet to access the service every month, while the number of daily active users on mobile has reached 15 million.
"People in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council countries) are particularly well-connected with a mobile connectivity rate of 196 percent -- an average of two SIM cards per person," the US company added.
According to Labin, this increase in Facebook users offers great opportunities for advertisers.
"We are seeing an increase in the number of advertisers who are turning to Facebook to get their message to the people who matter most," he said.
Facebook's mobile advertising revenues have leaped from zero percent in the first half of 2012 to 41 percent of total advertising revenues in the second quarter of 2013.
In May 2012, Facebook announced the opening in Dubai of its sales office for the Middle East and North Africa, naming Dubai's Emirates Airlines and Doha-based Al-Jazeera television among its advertising clients.
Activists in several Arab world countries have used Facebook and other Internet social networking sites as a speedy, anonymous and efficient engine to organise protests and campaigns that swept the region since 2011.

Samsung says to unveil smartphone with curved glass in October

                                                                                                                           (A hint picture)
Samsung Electronics Co Ltd said it will introduce a smartphone with a curved display in October, as the world's top handset maker seeks to set the pace of hardware innovation and maintain its supremacy in a fiercely competitive business.
Curved displays are an early stage in screen evolution which is shifting to bendable or foldable designs, eventually allowing mobile and wearable gadgets to take on new forms that could radically change the high-end smartphone market.
"We plan to introduce a smartphone with a curved display in South Korea in October," Samsung's mobile business head of strategic marketing D.J. Lee said on Wednesday at an event launching the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone in Seoul.
In January Samsung, which has taken over from Apple Inc as the global smartphone leader, showed off prototype products with a flexible screen and a display that extends from the side of a device.
But technology firms have yet to figure out how to mass produce the parts cheaply and come up with display panels that can be as thin as a sheet and highly heat resistant.

Curved display is already commercially available in large-screen televisions. Samsung and its home rival LG Electronics Inc had started selling curved OLED TV sets this year priced at about $9,000.

These are facts of only one city, Lahore, rest are same too!
Turkish Dramas started on Pakistani media last year but ye were very different from Pakistani culture, but our Electronic media did not cared about that and it seems that they are doing this for a specific agenda of any other country. So Pakistani media is always criticized for not showing that material which Pakistani nation want to watch, instead they are showing such material which is against our Culture, Religious and Views.
But there is no change in the behavior of Media...

Cars Air Conditioning History!!!

  • The 1940 Packard was the first car to offer factory-installed air-conditioning.
  • By 1969, more than half of all new cars sold were equipped with A/C.
  • Some brands affixed window decals to promote their air-conditioned automobiles.
  • For cars not equipped with factory air, dealer-installed, under-dash units were popular.
  • In a 1971 front-page story, the New York Times implicated air-conditioning in the death of the convertible, postulating that: "In the age of air-conditioning, real air has lost its value."
  • After the freon used in A/C units was blamed for depleting the ozone layer, automakers were required to switch from R12 to the less harmful R134a refrigerant by 1996.
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control allows for separate temperature settings for driver and passenger; some cars have additional zones for rear-seat passengers.
  • Volkswagen calls its manual air-conditioning system "Climatic;" automatic A/C is "Climatronic."
  • Today, more than 99 percent of all new cars are air-conditioned.
  • There's no A/C in base versions of the Chevrolet Aveo; Honda Civic; Hyundai Accent and Elantra; Jeep Wrangler; Kia Forte and Rio; Mazda 3; Mitsubishi Lancer; Nissan Versa; and Toyota Tacoma.
  • Testing by Consumer Reports found that using a car's air-conditioner resulted in a more than 3-mpg loss at highway speeds. Driving with the windows open had no measurable effect on fuel economy.

Steve Jobs A Hero, but Mr. Dennis respected Zero.

Both of these men died in the same month of the same year.
Steve was largely considered a hero, while Dennis was largely ignored by the world. Only a handful of programmers who knows the real value of Dennis’ work even know of his death.

Without Steve Jobs, there is no iPhone,iPad, iPod or Macintosh.
Without Dennis there is no C. without C, there is no Unix, Windows, or Linux. Without C there is no C++ nor Objective C.
There is no MacOS X, no iOS, no Photoshop, no FLStudio, no Firefox, no Safari, no Google Chrome, no Playstation, no Xbox. In fact, 90% of the applications in the world are written in C or C++ or Objective C.

If you think Dennis deserves our respect, please pass this along.

    Your GSM SIM At Risk!!!!

The SIM was one of the few common things in tech which were considered impossible to hack. Until now. Karsten Nohl of Security Research Labs (based out of Germany) has finally got a way past the 56-digit unique code and found a simple process which leaves an estimated 750 million SIM cards at risk.
The research was done on a 1000 SIM cards and only the ones which were using the old DES (Data Encryption Standard) standard were found vulnerable. Cracking them is super-easy and takes just 2 minutes. A message is sent to the target SIM card while disguised as the carrier. In response, a message is received containing information needed to find a way past the 56-digit code or the digital key which can allow the hacker to take control of the target SIM.
After getting this information and taking control, the intruder can easily listen to your calls, send text messages and in short, have control over every form of data on your SIM card.
    Mr. Nohl said:
“We can spy on you. We know your encryption keys for calls. We can read your S.M.S.’s. More than just spying, we can steal data from the SIM card, your mobile identity, and charge to your account.”
In all, about 25% of the SIM cards which were tested were found susceptible to such penetration. Newer technologies like NFC might be at risk too.
D.E.S. encryption, which is vulnerable to such hacks – is used on about half of the about six billion cellphones. Over the past decade, most operators have adopted a stronger encryption method, called Triple D.E.S., but many SIM cards still run the old standard.
The GSM Association hasn’t confirmed this just yet though as it will investigate the case first but if this, in any way is true, it will pose some serious threats to people using SIM card for much more complex purposes than calling and texting. Mobile payments that is.

Update: Voice and SMS Packages to Continue, Only Chat Rooms to End

It appears that the telecom sector was yesterday stormed with the biggest ever mis-understanding, as a directive coming from PTA ordered telecom operators to dis-continue Voice and SMS Packages. Same was interpreted by media and the telecom operators with whom we had confirmed the directive.
However, it is now emerging that that only voice and SMS chat rooms are to get blocked, and the usual SMS bundles and voice bundles that telecom companies offer are going to remain intact.
This mis-understanding was spread across the telecom industry as we had spoken with at least a dozen telco officials who were equally shocked at the decision.
PTA’s yesterday letter which clearly read “Packages Offered by CMTOs Contrary to Moral Values of the Society” is now asked to interpret as chat rooms that are offered by cellular companies, with which their customers could chat anonymously with other subscribers.
While there was no mention of chat rooms in the letter, the term used as chat packages is apparently what had confused everyone.
Telco officials have confirmed ProPakistani that they have received verbal communication from PTA about the issue and it is likely that PTA will issue a follow-up directive or a clarification later today.
A telco official said that they still think that SMS and Voice bundles are to be stopped, unless there comes a new directive clarifying the situation. He said that PTA must had used the term “Chat Rooms” instead of “Chat Packages” as this is how telcos advertise the offering.
Furthermore, Chat Rooms are offerings, not packages and should have been termed accordingly, the official concluded.
We will update this story as soon as we receive the clarification from PTA, or any development on the story.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announces retirement plan

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has decided to retire within the next 12 months. The timing of his retirement will be adjusted as the process to find his successor comes to completion. Until that time Mr Ballmer will continue to lead the direction of Microsoft and aid in the corporation’s transformation into a devices and services company.
Concerning the timing of his announcement Ballmer stated that “There is never a perfect time for this type of transition, but now is the right time”. While bowing out he took the opportunity to praise the “amazing senior leadership team” at Microsoft but said that the company needs “a CEO who will be here longer term for this new direction.”
The Microsoft board reaffirmed the mantra about the future “devices and services” strategy. John Thompson, the board’s lead independent director, said “The board is committed to the effective transformation of Microsoft to a successful devices and services company”. He stated that the focus of the board is now to find “a great new CEO” to work with the senior management. “We’re fortunate to have Steve in his role until the new CEO assumes these duties,” added Chairman of the Board Bill Gates.
The full internal email which was sent to Microsoft employees by Steve Ballmer to inform them of his retirement decision isreproduced upon the Microsoft news centre website. In the letter Ballmer described his depth of feeling for the company he is shortly to leave “Microsoft is an amazing place. I love this company. I love the way we helped invent and popularize computing and the PC. I love the bigness and boldness of our bets. I love our people and their talent and our willingness to accept and embrace their range of capabilities, including their quirks. I love the way we embrace and work with other companies to change the world and succeed together. I love the breadth and diversity of our customers, from consumer to enterprise, across industries, countries, and people of all backgrounds and age groups.” He also inserted a few statistics into his letter to show how much Microsoft has grown while he has been with the company; from a valuation of $7.5 million to $78 billion, from 30 employees to almost 100,000.

Skype 3D video call technology is ready and waiting!!!

THE web telephone service Skype has confirmed it has developed the technology to create 3D video calls, which could allow workers to send body doubles to work in the distant future.
Mark Gillett, corporate vice-president for Skype, announced teams had been working with state-of-the-art tools in order to capture 3D footage.
"We've seen a lot of progress in screens, and a lot of people now buy TVs and computer monitors that are capable of delivering a 3D image," he told the BBC.
Skype has readied a version of the messaging program capable of 3D video calling but is waiting for widespread adoption of consumer technology capable of making good use of the feature. The interview was given to the BBC as part of Skype's 10th birthday celebrations. Skype will also be giving away free Wi-Fi allowances to all Skype users today.
"We have it in the lab, we know how to make it work, and we're looking at the ecosystem of devices and their capability to support it in order to make a decision when we might think about bringing something like that to market," he added. Skype posted an advert in April that suggested it was looking to develop technology that would allow it to create body-doubles for employees unable to attend work meetings.
The ad said it wanted a system "that gives the remote worker a true seat at the table, the ability to look around the room, turn to a colleague and have a side conversation.
"Longer-term, this same platform will enable high-definition communication scenarios for consumers over Skype," it said.
The news comes a month after the BBC announced it was ditching 3D as a medium following a two-year trial. It ran a pilot scheme in which it televised a number of programmes in 3D, including Strictly Come Dancing and the ceremonies for the Olympics, last year.

3D is an emerging technology which many believe will feature heavily in the future of media consumption and entertainment but has suffered from a false start. Program makers such as the BBC and ESPN have notably ended 3D broadcasts and UK retailer John Lewis has remarked upon "dwindling consumer interest in the technology" says the BBC. Also a few hours ago Nintendo unveiled the 2DS handheld games console, removing the 3D features of its current best-selling device, however that decision might have more to do with price-points for the young gamer market than anything else.

Record 34 million foreign visitors arrived in Spain in Jan - Jul 2013

Britons' love affair with Spain continues unabated as UK holidaymakers accounted for nearly a quarter of all international visitors to the country this year, the highest number in almost two decades, according to the latest data from Frontur, the Spanish tourism department/s statistics agency. A record 34 million foreigners arrived on Spanish shores in the January-July period, an increase of 3.9% on last year, providing welcome news for property investors looking for a second home in the sun. Frontur recorded that a whopping 7.9 million people visited in July, up 2.9% from July 2012 and despite economic uncertainty across Europe, the British led the influx with 1.8 million visitors, followed by France and Germany with 1.2 million each.

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Manager for Taylor Wimpey Espana comments, "This comes as great news for the Spanish economy as tourism plays such an important role in GDP. It is also a promising sign for the EU as a whole as evidently consumers are feeling more financially confident and are spending money on holidays abroad.

"Here at Taylor Wimpey Espana we have seen this confidence also extend to the property market as visitors look to make their stay more permanent in favourite holiday destinations across Spain. We have experienced a huge success in the Costa del Sol in particular, with Los Arqueros Beach, our new luxury off-plan development in Marbella consisting of 114 penthouse style apartments selling out in just under a year to buyers from 16 different nations across the world.

"Whoever says that you can't sell off-plan in Spain is just wrong; we've proved it can be done!"

Indeed, according to the Frontur report, Andalucia, a region associated with sherry, tapas, whitewashed hill towns and beautiful beaches, saw the largest rise in international visitors, welcoming almost 1 million tourists in July alone, a jump of 8.5% compared to the same period last year. This marked increase in tourists to the perennially popular region is set to rise further as more and more budget airlines introduce extra flights to their Autumn/Winter schedules flying to Malaga international airport from across Europe and beyond.

Spanish rail tickets now available globally through SilverRail

Spain’s largest rail operator, Renfe, has partnered with SilverRail Technologies, the developer of the first global distribution platform specialising in passenger rail, to sell tickets for its entire network to customers all over the world. Renfe tickets have been incorporated into SilverRail’s global multi-country ticketing platform, SilverCore, which integrates all operators and countries into one system that can be easily accessed by online travel agents (OTAs), travel management companies and traditional travel agents. Renfe tickets will initially be available through leading European online booking tools i:FAO’s cytric and KDS, and will soon be offered through other corporate and leisure distributors.

With EU countries expected to invest an estimated $500 billion in the rail sector over the next 10 years, it is clear that rail travel will become more attractive to consumers. Renfe’s customer base is continuing to grow as is the number of routes it operates. For example, the route between Alicante and Madrid saw an increase in customer numbers of 38,000 in just one year, taking it to over 745,000 passengers in 2012. This popular route is now being operated by an AVE high-speed train in two-hours and thirty-minutes.

“Rail travel is currently seeing a renaissance and on some European routes customers are choosing to take a train rather than fly,” said Jesus De Juan Menchero, Head of Commercial and Distribution for Renfe. “Our partnership with SilverRail is going to enable us to keep up with high demand and make the booking process as easy as possible for our passengers, particularly our international customers.”

Alain van West, Vice President Business Development at SilverRail, describes Renfe as a key addition to the SilverRail network. “We are committed to making purchasing rail travel as simple as possible. This partnership with Renfe is a large step towards achieving our goal of making rail just as easy to book as flights. This partnership moves us closer to our vision of creating a global distribution network for rail travel,” he said.

SilverRail has already signed on rail companies in countries including the UK, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, the US and Canada, with more additions before the end of this year.
